Reading and Read Aloud

Reading has been recognized as a foundational skill required by all and particularly for children. Reading is very important and reading aloud helps children learn how to use language to make sense of the world. It improves information comprehension, accuracy, fluency, processing skill, vocabulary etc. Research has revealed that teachers and parents who read aloud to children motivate them to read. The ability to read is the cornerstone of a child's education and progress in life (Prof. Junaid, 2020). We would work in line with the National Reading Framework and the Learning Poverty concept to improve reading and literacy.
Read aloud is an instructional practice where facilitators and parents read text aloud age specific text to children. The reading facilitators incorporate variations in tone, pitch, pace, tone, volume, questions, eye contacts and feedback on comments.

According to a literacy expert (Regie Routman), 'read aloud is an indispensable first step in reaching and teaching students'.
Read aloud programmes are being organized in Schools, communities, Internally Displace Persons Camps, parks, recreational centres and virtually.
